Swinburne University of Technology

We respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri People, and their Elders past and present, who are the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Swinburne’s Australian campuses are located in Melbourne’s east and outer-east. We are honoured to recognise our connection to Wurundjeri Country, history, culture and spirituality through these locations, and strive to ensure that we operate in a manner that respects the Elders and Ancestors of these lands.

Swinburne also acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of lands across Australia where we conduct business, their Elders, Ancestors, cultures and heritage.

Swinburne University of Technology hosts Australia’s deepest research concentration in social enterprise and is a leading university in design and social innovation.

Just 10-15 minutes from the centre of Melbourne by train, the Hawthorn campus is the main campus of Swinburne. Hawthorn is one of the city’s most attractive inner suburbs.

The campus is set among the vibrant cafés, restaurants, bars, boutiques and bookshops of Glenferrie Road. It has the convenience of supermarkets, banks and ATMs nearby.

Explore the many laneways, loaded with fantastic coffee and shopping options. Relax in Central Gardens or go to the gym at the newly renovated Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre. Hawthorn’s newest movie theatre, Lido Cinemas, has eight screens and a rooftop cinema.

About Melbourne

Victoria's capital, Melbourne, sits on the banks of the Yarra River and around the shores of Port Phillip Bay. Melbourne boasts a packed program of festivals and events, Australia's best and most stylish shopping, has a lively passion for eating and drinking, and supports a flourishing arts scene.

Grand nineteenth-century architecture and elegant gardens, built following the discovery of gold, are a reminder of Victoria's 'Gold Rush' past, while Aboriginal cultural landmarks and landscapes continue to connect Indigenous Australians from South Eastern Australia with a living cultural heritage dating back more than 60,000 years.
